I was reading a large folio book of Picasso’s works and saw a photograph of Pablo leaning into the camera with a cigarette in one hand giving his famous intense stare. The photographer Arnold Newman later said Pablo just leaned in and gave him this now famous image, capturing an iconic moment in time.

In my painting I added a hat with a horn as Pablo often wore hats and used bulls and horns in his work.
